We know what it means to hit rock bottom, face the consequences of our choices and rebuild a life that looks nothing like the one we once imagined. We also know that your past does not have to become your permanent identity.
Through honest conversations about recovery, incarceration, reintegration, mental health, healing, accountability and personal growth, we share the realities of rebuilding without pretending the journey is always pretty.
This is about more than surviving what happened to us. It’s about discovering who we are beneath it all, finding our authentic selves and using what we’ve lived through to remind others that transformation is possible.

Our Mission
Our mission is to create a supportive, judgment-free community where lived experience becomes connection, education and hope.
Rock Bottom Revival brings real conversations about recovery, incarceration, reintegration, mental health and personal growth out of the shadows. We challenge stigma, encourage accountability and share tools, experiences and perspectives that can help people rebuild their lives.
Whether you are in recovery, have been impacted by the justice system, love someone who has or simply want to better understand these experiences, there is a place for you here.
Our Vision
We envision a future where the realities of incarceration, recovery and rebuilding are understood instead of assumed.
We want to challenge the misconceptions surrounding life behind the walls and bring the truth of the prison system into conversations happening on the outside. Incarceration does not automatically equal rehabilitation. Meaningful change happens when a person chooses to do the work, discovers what works for them and seeks out opportunities for growth—often within limited resources and limited access to programs.
Our vision is to help change the way society sees people who have been incarcerated, people in recovery and anyone rebuilding after rock bottom. We believe people should have opportunities to grow beyond their past, discover their authentic selves and build lives with purpose.
Through lived experience, honest conversations, education and advocacy, we hope to create greater understanding while inspiring people to take ownership of their own transformation.

Rock Bottom Revival is built on lived experience, real conversations and the belief that some of the most powerful voices are those willing to speak honestly about what they have lived through.
We aren't here to pretend we have everything figured out. We're here to share what we've learned, talk about the things people often avoid and create a space where recovery, incarceration, mental health, accountability, healing and rebuilding can be discussed without judgment.
Bethany Basler (BB)
Founder & Host | Rock Bottom Revival
Bethany brings a perspective to Rock Bottom Revival shaped by addiction, incarceration, mental health, recovery, spirituality and the experience of completely rebuilding her life.
Adopted and experiencing abandonment at birth, Bethany struggled with her mental health from a young age. It wasn't until age 44 that she received diagnoses including Borderline Personality Disorder, Reactive Attachment Disorder, depression and anxiety that helped many pieces of her life finally begin to make sense. She believes her previously misunderstood mental health played a significant role in her addiction and lifestyle not as an excuse for her choices, but as something she needed to understand in order to truly heal.
Bethany experienced addiction, overdose and incarceration within the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, spending much of her incarceration at Robert E. Ellsworth Correctional Center in Union Grove where her path crossed with Tammy's. She has been in recovery since April 5, 2016 and completed her nine-year sentence in May 2025.
Her recovery became about much more than leaving addiction behind. It became a journey of accountability, addressing her mental and physical health, breaking cycles and discovering who she authentically was underneath years of survival and labels.
Raised in the church, Bethany eventually discovered that traditional religion wasn't her path. Instead, she found her connection with God as she understands Him through the forest and natural world. That journey led her to become a Certified Sylvotherapist and Herbalist and helped inspire her business, EarthStarR, where nature, creativity, spirituality and recovery come together.
After many years as a cosmetologist, health challenges and knee replacements forced Bethany to retire and reinvent herself once again. She became a Certified Peer Specialist, transforming lived experience into an opportunity to support others navigating recovery, mental health, incarceration and reintegration.
Today, Bethany's passion is showing others that there isn't only one way to recover. She believes each person has to discover the combination of tools, support and opportunities that works for them. That philosophy guides her work with Rock Bottom Revival and EarthStarR and a book she is writing about her journey of learning to recover as a whole person.
Bethany describes herself today as a hope dealer who came from rock bottom as a drug dealer and addict.
She doesn't share her story because she has all the answers. She shares it so someone else at rock bottom can see that another life is possible.
There isn't only one way to Ryze.
Tammy Wieting
Co-Host | Rock Bottom Revival
Tammy brings a perspective to Rock Bottom Revival shaped by incarceration, mental health, family addiction, faith and the determination to build a different life than the one her circumstances could have predicted.
Growing up in a home impacted by addiction gave Tammy an understanding of its effects long before adulthood. Today, she also shares life with someone in recovery and has continued learning how to support the people she loves through resources such as Al-Anon. Her experiences allow her to bring an important perspective to our recovery conversations—not only from the person rebuilding their own life, but from the loved one walking beside someone through addiction and recovery.
Tammy also knows firsthand what it means to rebuild after incarceration. She and Bethany were incarcerated together, but incarceration did not become the ending of Tammy's story.
Since returning to the community, she has continued choosing growth. She returned to college and earned a place on the Dean's List. She and her husband moved into their first apartment since her incarceration where they are building a home together with their fur babies. Through setbacks, mental health struggles and everything that comes with starting over, Tammy continues moving forward.
Her Christian faith is an important part of that journey, and she proudly identifies Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Tammy's story challenges the belief that someone who has committed a crime is destined to continue repeating the same cycles. People can change. People can learn. People can rebuild. And given the opportunity, people who once struggled to survive can begin to thrive.
Today, Tammy brings that experience to Rock Bottom Revival as co-host, offering encouragement, another point of view and support to those who reach out.
